The mission of the Ursuline Sisters has been operating in the San Antonio District of San Pedro, in the Philippines, for 37 years. The area is very poor, and over 2,600 families live in 11 small villages, in shacks without any services and where there is not even any access to drinking water. Living conditions are extremely difficult and many inhabitants, including a lot of children, suffer from hunger or malnutrition and become ill due to a lack of medicines and precarious housing conditions.

The project

The project supported by our Foundation includes important initiatives:

DAY CARE SCHOOL: free education for poor children, from 5 years old onwards; the educational offer will be extended with two classes for higher education.

FOOD SUPPORT PROGRAMME: A meal is served to 600-800 children and adults every Sunday, supporting the community in its physical and spiritual growth.

MEDICAL CLINIC: three volunteer doctors offer free consultations and medicines twice a week.

SCHOLARSHIPS: the sisters distribute school supplies to children attending school, from primary school to university, as well as uniforms and financial aid to the most needy.

PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL INSTITUTE: construction of 2 classrooms to allow 60 students experiencing poverty to be trained in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), cooking, carpentry and electronics, and to prepare them for integration in the world of work.

Support for the San Pedro Mission is guaranteed on an on-going basis.
