The Saint Rita of Cascia Foundation dedicates commitment and passion to solidarity projects aimed at the most vulnerable, both in Italy and around the world.

A path of charity in service to others

Established on 5 March 2012 from the heart of the Monastery, the Saint Rita of Cascia Foundation carries Saint Rita’s values of charity and brotherhood into the world, providing tangible support to the most vulnerable individuals and families, both in Italy and in the most remote areas of the globe. Having officially been recognised as a Third Sector Organisation (ETS) on 13 December 2022, we have reached a milestone that strengthens our commitment to building—together with our donors—a large family united by solidarity. Today, more than ever, the Foundation stands as a helping hand for those in difficulty: a tangible sign of how charity can truly transform lives.

By the side of the vulnerable, every day
Guided by the example of Saint Rita and following her path of love, we reach out to those most in need. Every day, together with our donors, we stand alongside thousands of people, offering a listening ear, support, hope, and opportunity, as we walk with them toward a brighter future.

Our objectives

  • To build a better future

    We are passionately committed to improving the lives of those who face difficulties on a daily basis, focusing on the most fragile people, with particular attention to children. We work to reduce the injustices that arise from social and economic inequalities, lack of educational opportunities and insufficient access to adequate food. We promote the well-being of those facing a difficult present every day, restoring hope and offering them the tools to build a more serene tomorrow.

    We promote the well-being of our projects’ beneficiaries and support them in overcoming the challenges of poverty by offering them the tools to build a brighter future and the hope of achieving it.

  • To spread the values of solidarity together

    We create authentic connections between our occasional volunteers, who are the beating heart of our events. Their commitment and passion give life to a network of solidarity rooted throughout Italy, promoting a culture of tangible help and sharing, spreading the values of solidarity and offering support to those in need.

    For us, every donor is part of our family. Their generous gesture is more than just help, it is a deep connection that unites us all. Each contribution nurtures a sense of belonging, creating lasting bonds that go beyond just donating.

The link between the Monastery and the Saint Rita of Cascia Foundation

The Monastery of Saint Rita of Cascia is the place where the Saint lived and where the nuns now safeguard her message of hope and charity. As a result of their strong determination to make their mission even more concrete, the Saint Rita of Cascia Foundation was founded in 2012.

Inspired by Ritian and Augustinian spirituality, the Foundation transforms prayer and love into tangible actions, supporting solidarity projects for the most vulnerable in Italy and around the world. The Monastery and Foundation create a synergy of a spiritual and operational dimension that makes it possible to sow the seed of goodness, expanding the scope of the charity and bringing help where it is most needed. Every day, they work together to transform Saint Rita’s message into a journey of love that reaches more and more people.
